What this practice entails.
Yin targets the deep connective tissue: hips, hamstrings, spine and shoulders, held passively for three to five minutes each while the muscles switch fully off. Bolsters, blocks and blankets do the work — your only job is to stay, breathe and notice.
Sofia closes every session with an extended sound rest — singing bowl, silence and dim light — so you leave the studio genuinely restored.
- 75 minutes · all levels · fully propped
- Candlelit room, no music, minimal talking
- Singing-bowl closing ritual every session
- Pairs beautifully with Vinyasa or running

Good to know.
Is Yin just lying around?
It looks quiet, but long holds ask a lot of patience and body awareness. Most students find it the most mentally challenging class we teach.
I am very stiff — will I cope?
Stiffness is the reason to come. Every pose has a fully supported variation, and props mean flexibility is never a prerequisite.
What should I wear?
Warm layers and socks — the room is candlelit and cool, and you will be still for long stretches. Blankets are provided too.
Give your nervous system an evening off.
Wednesday nights and Sunday evenings — seventy-five minutes of held poses, low light and genuine quiet.
